Berdych Starts 2017 US Open Campaign --- Berdych has made the quarterfinals or better at eight events this season, but he has not yet won a title in 2017 --- Czech No. 15 seed Tomas Berdych extended his perfect record (4-0) against American Ryan Harrison with a 6-4, 6-2, 7-6(4) victory for a place in the second round. Berdych, the 2012 semi-finalist, recovered from a 0-3 deficit in the first set and saved one set point 5-6 in the third set, when Harrison served at 40/30. He now challenges Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, who worked his way past Jan-Lennard Struff of Germany 3-6, 6-3, 6-2, 1-6, 6-3.
