Lendl about Berdych: "I don’t fear for him"
Tennis legend Ivan Lendl visited Prague for two days and told in an interview that tennis fans have nothing to worry about Tomas. His recent performances under expectations have no great significance.
Ivan Lendl answered a few questions concerning tennis. In particular, he expressed himself on Tomas Berdych’s recent bad results. Tomas who is struggling since reaching his first Grand Slam final this summer at Wimbledon.(*)
“About Tomas I’m not worried at all” Ivan Lendl said with confidence. "Tomas has improved a lot in 2010. He has great movement on the court, he is more patient in the exchanges. There is no need to attach great importance to the fact that he failed early in recent tournaments. Tomas has obtained great successes this year and I do not know exactly what it is, but he may be exhausted now. Nothing special, it’s normal and it happens in sport. I'm sure about it and I’m not worried about Tomas.”
The cause may be also the pressure on Berdych’s shoulders after his great run at the French Open and Wimbledon. It's always better to attack from the bottom than defend and fulfill the expectations. But as I mentioned, I don't worry about him" said Ivan Lendl.
