World No.7 Tomas Berdych said he was glad to return to Thailand after losing to Canada's Milos Raonic in last year's final of the Thailand Open in Bangkok. "I will try my best to win the title. I hope this will be a good preparation for me before the Australian Open'' said the Czech.

Richard Gasquet has visited Thailand several times but this is his first visit to Hua Hin. "I will do my best to win the tournament'' he said.

David Ferrer said he had not talked much about Thailand with compatriot Rafael Nadal, who visited Hua Hin a few years ago. "This is my first time in Thailand. I have heard that Thailand is a beautiful country and it's nice to be here'' he said.

"This is a good tournament before the Australian Open because the weather here is hot similar to that in Australia,'' said Isner, who will be making his third appearance in the resort town.
The World Tennis Thailand Championship is a new tournament designed to help players prepare for the forthcoming Australian Open and it features six leading ATP players.
Fabio Fognini said he wanted to use the tournament as part his preparation for the Australian Open. "I am here to improve my game and see what I can do with only two or three weeks before the Australian Open'' he said.
