Tomas Berdych, seeded first at the Portugal Open, will enter tomorrow Thursday in action in the Portuguese competition. The Czech said to be pleased to come to Oeiras.
"It was really a last minute decision, because it was not on my agenda, not in my plans, but when I got the call, with the proposal of the ' wild-card ', reflected very quickly. I was just very happy to come here and play some matches. I think it will be a good choice for me"said the tennis player, number six in the world, after a cooking show in which cooked and chopped tuna.
Berdych says he will think step by step and analyzed his opponent in the first round, Indian Somdev Devvarman
"For me it's always the same thing, try to go game by game. Everything will start tomorrow for me, I will face my first opponent, I will try to overcome that and then go day by day. He can be very dangerous. I have no experience of playing against him on clay, so we'll see how tought it will be. We must always be very focused in every match we play. It's our sport, so they are always 50 percent chance for each side. I'll try to do my best and try to start the tournament as well as possible"
