The Court 17 at Roland-Garros

Czech's Tomas Berdych returns the ball to Chile's Jorge Aguilar during their men's first round in the French Open tennis championship at the Roland Garros stadium, on May 24, 2010, in Paris. The event, the second Grand Slam tournament of 2010, runs from May 23 to June 6, 2010.

All first rounds in Grand Slam are so STRESSFUL. Today I sympathize with Dmitry Tursunov who’s coming back after injury and took a 1-6 1-6 against Gimeno-Traver, also Feliciano Lopez losing 1st set 1-6 against unknown German Reister and my poor Tomas being in a tie-break in the first set against Jorge *photo non available* Aguilar ranked 225 in the world…

I get cold feet / j'ai la frousse

to turn the tables / retourner la situation

a leap in the dark / un saut dans l'inconnu

I am over the moon / je suis aux anges

not only the guy seems unbreakable but it's Tomas who faced BP

to reach a 3-3 score in the 2nd set after 2 hours of play

yeah finally Tomas Good Boy managed to break Aguilar's serve

*to really get a move on / mettre les bouchées doubles*

Tomas took 2nd set by 6-3!

*to grasp the nettle / prendre le taureau par les cornes*

early break in the third... Tomas's leading 2*-0

*to clear off / prendre le large*

Tomas on Fire!

*to be cooking with gas / marcher très fort*

Tomas won in straight sets

*to bring the house down / casser la baraque*

For goodness' sake! who's the boss?

Czech No. 15 seed Tomas Berdych also came through a testing opening set before racing to a 7-6(7), 6-3, 6-1 victory against Chilean qualifier Jorge Aguilar. The 24-year-old Berdych, who struck 51 winners – including 17 aces, improved to a 26-10 match record on the season, highlighted by reaching the Sony Ericsson Open final (l. to Roddick) in Miami in April.

Chile's Jorge Aguilar *he looks scary* reacts as he plays Czech Republic's Tomas Berdych during their

first round match at the Roland Garros stadium in Paris, Monday May 24, 2010.

*Baby, you gotta love next Davis Cup QF in Chile!*
