Nadal will play Tomas Berdych in Friday's opening rubber in Barcelona, with David Ferrer taking on Radek Stepanek in the second singles.
Nadal has a 10-0 record in singles rubbers on clay and has won four matches in a row against Berdych since an ill-tempered defeat in Madrid three years.
"There's no problem between Rafael and I," said Berdych. "I don't think this will play a part in this game.
"He's going to play at home and he's going to play on his favorite surface. I think he's going to be at his best."
