The Davis Cup Committee has approved on appeal Sportska Dvorana "Zatika" in Porec as the venue for Croatia's Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group semifinal against Czech Republic on 18-20 September.
Croatia has played both of its other 2009 ties in the same stadium, defeating Chile and USA there. It has won 11 of its last 12 home ties in Davis Cup and if it advances to the final and faces Spain, it will have another home tie.
The two former Davis Cup champions have never faced each other previously in the competition. 2005 champion Croatia is bidding to reach the final for just the second time while the Czechs, who have reached the semifinals for the first time since 1996, are looking to reach the final for the first time since Ivan Lendl led them to victory in 1980, and just the third time overall.
