After a 2 week holiday spent abroad Tomas Berdych is back to Czech Republic. He is expected to participate in an autograph session that will be held at the Masaryk University in Brno on Tuesday, December 13, 2011.
The Masaryk University is the second largest university in the Czech Republic, a member of the Compostela Group and the Utrecht Network. Founded in 1919 in Brno as the third Czech university (after Charles University 1348, Palacký University 1573), it now consists of nine faculties and 42,182 students. It is named after Tomas Garrigue Masaryk, the first president of an independent Czechoslovakia as well as the leader of the movement for a third Czech university.
"As a successful athlete I feel a moral obligation to support young people in their desire to prove something. Not everyone has the opportunity and facilities to become a successful professional athlete, but many young people may be due to their talent and will to achieve success through good quality education to high school. It's similar to tennis: when you have talent and for your training you choose a quality club and coach, you have far more chance to get ahead. I was lucky that I chose correctly says Tomas Berdych.”
