Tomas has put his first-round defeat at the French Open behind him and is looking forward to the grass court season
Tomas Berdych did not stay long at the second Grand Slam event this year, he fell out in the first round of Roland Garros but quickly forgot it. This week he took part in events at the Czech Open in Prostejov. Next week he will be playing his first grass tournament in Halle, Germany, and then he goes to London to defend his points of last year’s runner-up in Wimbledon.
Like he did in 2010 Tomas will prepare his Wimbledon campaign at the BNP Paribas Tennis Classic in one of the most tranquil and beautiful settings in Central London, the Hurlingham Club. He confirmed his participation on 2 June 2011 in this exhibition tournament which will be held from Tuesday 14 to Saturday 18 June 2011.
Berdych, the 2010 Wimbledon runner-up is assured to play at least 2 matches on grass before the grand rendez-vous at Wimbledon.
Asked about his defeat in 1st round of the French Open: "I forgot about Roland Garros quickly. That happens in life and I am looking forward to other tournaments. Now I am preparing for the grass surface and meanwhile I was happy to spend some time in Prostejov."
