Marseille Friday Quarter-Final Preview
First on Centre Court is No. 2 seed Tomas Berdych against Marin Cilic. Berdych, who is currently spending his 60th career week in the Top 10, is playing his first quarter-final in four tries at this event; Cilic, who has had 11 career weeks in the Top 10 (but is ranked No. 28 this week), is also playing his first quarter-final here, in his second attempt. Berdych leads the head-to-head, 2-0, but both matches went the distance. In his first match since withdrawing from Rotterdam last week with the flu, Berdych looked strong in his opening match here, beating French qualifier Edouard Roger-Vasselin, 63 64. Cilic won his second round in straight sets, too.

Tomas lost to Marin Cilic who was the better player today
The 28th-ranked Cilic dominated the duel between the two big servers to come through 6-3, 6-4 winner for the first time in three meetings with the top ten ranked Berdych, who was making his return after withdrawing from Rotterdam last week with flu.
Cilic upsets Berdych
Marin Cilic is the first 2011 semi-finalist. The Croatian dominated the second seed of the tournament, Tomas Berdych, 6-3 6-4.
In the third game of the match Cilic broke a lethargic Berdych, who clearly had not yet recovered from last week's flu. The Croatian consolidated to go up 4-2, a sufficient advantage to pocket the first set.
It wasn't until 6-3 4-4 that Berdych had his first break opportunity, but thanks a beautifully touched forehand, Cilic saved and two points later won the game.
Up 5-4 and returning, Cilic felt the opportunity to seal the deal. Up 30-40, the young Croatian hit, yet another perfect forehand winner after a 20 shot rally sendind Berdych packing.
