Tomas Berdych, who had a bye in the first round, quickly found his form with a 6-3 6-0 victory over Argentine Martin Alund and will meet Dutchman Thiemo De Bakker in the quarter-finals. It was not so easy for his next opponent Thiemo de Bakker who survived 2 MPs before eliminating Viktor Troicki 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (6). Berdych, playing for the first time since losing in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon, is a two time runner-up here in Bastad [2005-2008].

De Bakker Records Biggest Win Of Career

Thiemo de Bakker kept his nerve on Friday to record the biggest win of his career at the SkiStar Swedish Open.
De Bakker defeated top seed and World No. 6 Tomas Berdych 7-5, 7-5 in just over two hours.
The World No. 104 has now beaten three Top 10 players in the Emirates ATP Rankings, including No. 9 Fernando Verdasco at the 2010 Shanghai Rolex Masters and No. 10 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga at the 2010 Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell.
De Bakker, who saved four match points to beat sixth seed Viktor Troicki on Thursday, goes onto face Carlos Berlocq, who overcame Albert Ramos 6-3, 3-6, 6-0.
