The Boodles Challenge runs from June 18 to 22.
The Boodles Challenge is an international five-day tennis exhibition held at Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire, in the area of London, providing top men players an opportunity to play some non-pressure event tennis prior to taking the courts at Wimbledon.
Being an exhibition event, not a regular single elimination event, the players have a chance to play several times and the spectators can see top players play several times over the 5 days.
Joining us for the first time at The Boodles is World No. 6 Tomas Berdych
Tomas has been playing tennis since the age of 5 beginning at a tennis center in his hometown of Valasske Mezirici. The 2012 season saw Tomas Berdych become the first Czech with 3 straight seasons in the Top 10 since Lendl . 2012 was also the first time he won won 2 titles in a season in Montpellier and Stockholm. In 2013 he reached the Australian Open Quarter-Finals for a third consecutive year, losing to eventual champion Novak Djokovic, in four sets. Interestingly Tomas also holds the record for the longest ever doubles ATP match in the 2013 Davis Cup first-round. Partnered by Lukas Rosol, the duo overcame Chiudinelli/Wawrinka 24-22 in a five set match lasting 7 hours and 1 minute. We wish Tomas well as he begins his Wimbledon preparations at Stoke Park.
