What the players said :

TOMAS BERDYCH

...next opponent is Roddick, well, we played, I think, three - four times already, and I beat him twice on the quite fast surfaces, one indoors and one in Tokyo. So you never know, but he always playing well here in Wimbledon, two times in the finals. I think he likes the grass, as well. So we'll see. But I think it's a good chance for me.

ANDY RODDICK

Everyone on their best day is as good as it gets. That's kind of the way it is. Berdych is streaky. It's rarely middle of the road. He's either really good or not so good. Right now you expect to get the best of him with the way he's been rolling through the tournament so far. So, you know, obviously I think he's a different player in the fourth round of a tournament or the quarters of a tournament than he would be in the first or second round. So I certainly, you know, expect the best of him. He's got weapons. There's going to be times during the match where it's going to be out of my hands. He can serve big. He's going to hit big from the baseline. It's just a matter of trying to weather what he's bringing."

Roddick will face Tomas Berdych, the huge-hitting and unpredictable Czech with whom he has split his four previous matches. Roddick's 135-mph serve buoyed him in the tiebreakers, in which he is 22-3 this year. He won eight of his nine service points in the extra sessions, and more than 70 percent of his service points in the match, including 33 aces. "Obviously, being able to win cheap points under tense situations with my serve helps," he said.
